Random Answer Picker Wheel
Randomly select answers for quizzes, reviews, or when students are stuck. Add answer options and let the wheel decide. Perfect for making learning fun!
Perfect For
Using This Preset Well
This wheel picks one of four answer letters at random: A, B, C, or D. It does not know the correct answer to anything. It is a game piece for multiple-choice review. The most common way to use it is the defend-your-letter game. Put a multiple-choice question on the board, spin the wheel, and the student whose turn it is has to explain why the selected letter is right or wrong. Landing on a wrong answer is often more useful than landing on the right one, because explaining why B is wrong takes real understanding. It also works as a tiebreaker when the class is split between options, or as a quick way to choose which of four practice problems the whole class does together.
Setup checklist
- Add E, or remove D, so the wheel matches the number of options in the questions you are reviewing.
- Pair it with the random student picker if you want the wheel to choose both the letter and the person who explains it.
- Replace the letters with True and False for a two-option version, or with short answer stems for open questions.
How to read the result
Each of the four letters has the same 25 percent chance on every spin. The result is only a letter. The wheel does not check it against an answer key, score anything, or remember which letters have come up. If you are keeping track of how often the class lands on the right answer, do it on paper. A run of the same letter three times in a row is possible and does not mean the wheel is stuck.
Limits
This is a random letter generator, not an answer key or a quiz tool. It cannot hold your questions, so you still need them on a slide or worksheet. Students should understand that the wheel is choosing what to discuss, not telling them what is correct, or the game teaches the wrong lesson.
