Using This Preset Well
This preset is a visible way to choose one name from a class list. Replace every placeholder with a student name, check the list before projecting it, and decide whether a selected name should remain eligible. The Remove winner setting is useful when every student should be chosen once before the list resets.
Setup checklist
- Use Paste list to add the class in one go, one name per line, instead of typing a row at a time.
- Use equal weights for ordinary participation. If you use weights, explain the rule before spinning.
- Clear the saved list when the device is shared or when the class roster changes.
How to read the result
With equal weights, each listed row has the same chance. Duplicate names create duplicate chances, so remove accidental duplicates before using the wheel. The animation displays a winner already selected with the browser Web Crypto API; it does not choose a second result after the wheel stops.
Limits
A random picker cannot judge whether a student needs an accommodation, has already participated in another activity, or should not be called on publicly. Apply classroom judgment first and use the wheel only among students who are currently eligible.

Yes. Every name on the wheel has the same chance, picked with your browser's cryptographically secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Classroom wheels cannot be set to a chosen result. Watch for duplicate rows, though: a name entered twice gets two chances.
Can I save my class list?
Yes. Your list stays in this browser, so it is waiting next time, with no account needed. Use Paste list to add a whole class at once, and Clear all when you are on a shared or classroom device.
