Using This Preset Well

This wheel picks which platform you play on. The default eight are PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam Deck, and Mobile. Most people own two or three of those, so the first step is to delete the rest. The wheel is for the person who has a game in progress on every system and keeps defaulting to the same one. Spin, boot up whatever comes up, and play the thing that has been sitting half finished on that platform. Households use it differently: two children sharing a living room can spin for which console gets the television tonight, and the result is less contentious than a parent deciding. It also works for streamers who rotate between console and PC content and want the schedule to be visibly random rather than chosen.

Setup checklist

Delete every platform you do not own. A spin that lands on a console you sold last year is wasted.
Add platforms the default list misses, such as a Nintendo Switch 2, a retro console, or a cloud streaming service.
Give a platform a higher weight if it has more unplayed games on it. Weight 2 makes it twice as likely as a platform at weight 1.

How to read the result

With equal weights each platform has the same chance, so a spin is not influenced by which system has the game you were hoping to play. The result names a platform only; you still choose the game once you are there. If the same console has come up three nights running, that is chance, not a fault. Turn on Remove winner if you want the wheel to rotate through every platform before repeating.

Limits

The wheel cannot see what is installed, which subscription services are active, or whether a console needs a two-hour update before it will run anything. It also cannot split screen time fairly between people; it only picks a platform. Anyone using it to settle who gets the television should agree on what the loser gets to do instead before the spin.
